Since you are here, you are probably wanting to learn a few more things about myself and The Crafty VA.
So, in a nutshell, I am a quiet girl, who loves Christ, crafting, writing, and who knows her Myers-Briggs personality type (you can find out yours here)!
My passion for helping DIY bloggers and creative entrepreneurs comes from the fact that I myself am a DIY blogger.
I started my DIY blog called Running with a Glue Gun back in 2011 to share my DIYs projects and to meet creative people. Little did I know, that this blogging journey would lead me to become a freelance writer, design team member, and DIY contributor for a variety of crafting websites.
My DIY projects and articles were featured on some awesome websites!
I wrote and contributed DIY content to several websites!
I was on design teams and worked with some amazing companies!
In 2014, I design a DIY kit for Darby Smart called “Charmed DIY Necklace”!
Between 2016-2018 my projects were used on the Home Shopping Network (HSN) to promote Xyron.
In 2018, two of my projects were recreated at Creativation for Xyron’s MakenTake! The above photo, is one of the projects which was called a “flowering cactus’”.
In 2019, I was a contributor to Leisure Arts ”Quilted Wall Hangings – 11 Unique Projects for Quilt Lovers” book! My project is called ”Jelly Roll” and is on page 36!
In 2020, I was a contributor to Leisure Arts ”Miniature Quilts – 12 Tiny Projects That Make a Big Impression” book! My project is called ”Charming Dog” and is on page 33!
On one hand, it was a blessing because I could write, create, and work from home. However, as any blogger knows, the constant reminder that you are working alone and everything is dependent upon you, can really eat away at your mind and spirit.
So, trust me when I say that I completely understand what it feels like to be stressed out, not happy (in general), overworked, confused about what you are doing, and spread thinned while running a creative blog.
In order to keep up with being a DIY blogger and being a full-time college student, I had to learn how to do the best I could with what I had. This little concept, along with trusting God’s direction, really helped me to feel that I was controlling my schedule instead of my schedule controlling me.
While being her VA, I instantly fell in love with the idea of using my knowledge and experience to help her feel that she could do more of what she loved in her business (since she wasn’t focusing on every little task herself).
From there, I decided that I should put my business degree to use and actually start a business!
